February 23, 2008
Every computer user wanted to speed up the speed of their computer’s start-up time. But some of them really wants to speed up even their pc’s shutdown process. Just follow these few simple steps to speed up your WinXP shutdown process.
Basically, we need to do some registry manipulation so you may want to backup your registry so if somthing goes wrong, you can still save your computer from reformatting.:D
- click Start > Run, then type regedit in the Run box
- Go to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management”
- Change the value of ClearPageFileAtShutdown to 0.
- Restart your computer.
What this trick do is just, it won’t clear the paging file that slows down the shutdown process of winxp.
